Brian Smith is the manager of a field engineer group. He received a demand for a pump house facility for the new exploring plant in the Amazon Forest. Its to provide water from a near river. For this, he received a draft-design and an email from the field.
Technical Approval
Erick Souza gives his approval, attaching the related norms and makes the specs book and a first general cad design.
Environmental Approval
Damon Bradley is in the airport and receive a SMS message. He opens the workflow in his smartphone, view the process where he has to gather the environmental aspects and impacts. He remarked that it's the same of a precedent project. Using his laptop, he downloads the document and input it to new project.
Budget Approval
Charles White calculates the budget limit and attaches an excel file with the "project cost follow up" sheet. He makes also the drawing list, material list and the project chronograme.
Distribution of Projects - Board of Engineers
Frank Wilson provides the Electrical installations specs, Elen Ford provides the mechanical specs. And Geena Smith provide the civil specs.
Project Developping - Submition Suppliers
Greg Hilson, from other supplier: after sending the first version to the engineering board, he receives back the drawing for validation and comments. Greg selects the attached drawing and "check out" it for make changes. While he downloads the document and work on it, no one can use it, as the status is set to "in review". When ready, Greg uploads the reviewd document and "check it in". The status is set clear and the checkout icon appears again.
Projects Approval - Board of Engineers
Frank, Elen and Geena receives their designs, analyze and approve or re-send for review with their comments.
Waiting for Construction - Document Center
Every project is filled for further historical requests or to be re-used in another application. Brian enters in the content management application and view the documents from one of Pump House projects.
Construction - Construction Staff
Alan Silva receives the final project to proceed the execution.
Graphics
Brian checks the projects set evolution and realizes that there is a bottleneck in the current process.
Builder
Brian goes back to the IT department and change the current workflow to make it more effective and save project time.
